Vung Tau city or Ba Ria-Vung Tau is close Ho Chi Minh city and 100km from away this city. It is a famous port city in Vietnam. It has long sandy beaches which stretch along the coastline. Along the 20km coastline It has many beautiful beaches such as Truoc (Front), Sau (Back), Vong Nguyet, Dua (Pineapple), etc. All are ideal for sunbathing, swimming and leisure.

The rainy season is from May to October and the dry season is from November to April. The temperature is around 27 degrees, while lowest is 24 degrees and highest is 29 degrees.

How to get to Vung Tau?

+ By bus

The bus is the common transportation to Vung Tau by local people. Therefore, there are many bus daily to this city. They are Phuong Trang, Kumho Samco, Hoa Mai, Toan Thang, ect bus companies for choice to travel. It takes around 1.5 – 2 hours to reach Vung Tau. Each 30 minutes has 1 bus leave the bus station depend on each bus company

+ By motorbike

Motorbike is one of common transportation to Vung Tau for young people. It takes around 3 hours to reach Vung Tau beach city.

+ By speedboat

Speedboat is available daily between Ho Chi Minh city and Vung Tau city. It takes around 1.5 hour to reach the city. Some speedboat companies are Vina Express, Petro Pacific Express and Green lines. Address is in Nha Rong Wharf in Ho Chi Minh city. Price is from 7 usd to 12 usd/ticket.

Tops attractions in Vung Tau

1. Back beach (Bai Sau beach)

It is one of the most prefer beach in Vung Tau city. There are many local food stalls, hotels for accommodation as well as other useful services in different price. The calm waves and rock along 8km make this beach an unique site. It is on Thuy Van street

2. Front beach (Bai Truoc beach)

Back beach is additional Back beach make famous beaches in Vung Tau city. It is along Quang Trung and Ha Long street. Front beach is less tourist than.

3. Christ the King Monument

Christ the King, the Statue of Jesus is on the Little Mountain. It is the proud of local people. This statue is 32 meters high. Visitor can view the spectacular scenery from the top and get the breathtaking panorama of the whole city. There is no entrance fee to visit this site.

4. Woman’s Island (Hon Ba)

A woman built a temple in 1781 on an island to worship the Sea Goddess. It is for praying the blessing of fishermen on the sea. Visitor would like to visit this island; They must check the tides in advance before travel. There is only way to reach Hon Ba is to walk on the rocky footpath across the sea. 5. Light House

It is on the top of the Little Mountain. Vung Tau Light house is as French architecture and worth to visit once you are in Vung Tau city. It offers the most peaceful and picturesque landscapes. Along the road is the beautiful café shop on the cliff where gives the beautiful view.

6. Thang Tam Temple

This temple built in Minh Mang dynasty from 1820 to 1840. It is used to worship three leaders of three villages: Thanh Nhat, Thang Nhi and Thang Tam or call first, second and third Thang

7. White Palace

White Palace is the summer villa of Bao Dai King for holiday. Built in 1916 and now is the home of some local and cultural artifacts. It brings visitor back 20th century for its architecture and history for the last King in Vietnam.

8. Battle of Long Tan Cross

The battle of Long Tan took place on 18th August 1966. It was the single most well-known engagement of Australia in Vietnam. This site is to commemorate the battle and the loss of Australian soldiers during Vietnam War. In order to visiting this place, traveller must ask the permission at Dat Do Distric People’s Committee by fax through travel company or in person.
