In 1897, the Long Bien Bridge project approved by the Governor General of Indochina Paul Doumer. It's for the purpose of improving the infrastructure need for French colonial exploration. The Bridge includes a 2,290m long crossing over the river, comprising 19 steel beams spanning 20 over 40m high and 896m on the stone bridge.
