Dong Van Karst Plateau

The Dong Van karst plateau (or Plain of Dong Van) is a rocky plateau spreading over four districts of Quan Ba, Yen Minh, Dong Van and Meo Vac in Ha Giang Province, Vietnam.

On October 3, 2010, the profile of "Dong Van Rock Geological Park" has been officially recognized by the Global Geopark Network (GGN) Advisory Board of UNESCO as Global Geopark . This is the first in Vietnam and second in Southeast Asia.

How to Make Dong Van karst plateau is special?

Dong Van stone plateau is one of the special limestone karst areas. It's containing typical markers of the history of the earth's crust development, natural phenomena, unique landscape of aesthetics and biodiversity. With high traditional value culture of the community of indigenous people.

Dong Van plateau has enough convergence factors to become a global geological park: mineral geology, rich natural resources. Beside that the cultural identity is also very unique and impressive. Such as the culture of the Mong, Lo Lo, Pu Pu, Dao. The Dong Van karst plateau is also home to many of the nation's recognized monuments. There are Vuong's architectural monument, Lung Cu flagpost, Dong Van ancient town, Ma Phi Leng Pass, Quan Ba ​​twin mountain.
